Fund+TA shortlist, week of 21 August 2026

Zenith Market AI TeamAugust 21, 20266 min readRSS

A ranked cut of a set you can already see

The Fund+TA shortlist is not a second universe. It is the same liquid names as the free screener, sorted.

Free users already see every name, unsorted, on the screener and the heatmap. Premium is the ranked 8, with the Fund + TA breakdown in one row. The homepage teases the top two and blurs the rest. That is the product, not a fake lock on public data.

This note is the method plus this week's reading of how the sort behaves. It is not the live table pasted into a blog (the live table belongs on the site, where the model can move).

The rank formula (the whole secret)

For each non-ETF name:

  1. Map the composite signal: Strong Buy = 5, Buy = 4, Hold = 2, Sell/Strong Sell = 0. Multiply by 20.
  2. Add 0.35 × confidence.
  3. Add fundamental grade: A = 5, B = 4, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0, times 8.
  4. Add 6 if disruption = AI Beneficiary.
  5. Subtract 8 if disruption = High Risk.
  6. Sort descending. Keep 8.
That is it. No options flow. No unpublished factor.

What that overweight this week

Because of (4) and (5), AI-infrastructure names with a Buy-leaning composite and a decent grade rise. NVIDIA, TSMC, Broadcom are the obvious conversation, not because we picked them in a meeting, but because the overlay says Beneficiary and the fundamental table is not hostile.

Microsoft will not win this sort. Hold cap plus High Risk penalty. Even a strong fundamental grade cannot print a Buy, so the signal sleeve stays at Hold (2 × 20) and then loses another 8. That is working as designed. See Why the model will not Buy Microsoft.

High-multiple software that is not tagged Beneficiary gets no gift. A C-grade, Hold, High Risk name is almost designed to fall out of the 8.

Try the public tools first

Screener, heatmap, and ticker scores stay free. Premium is the desk on your book — $14/mo early adopter (listed $29), 7-day trial.

How to use the two public rows

On the homepage, open the two unlocked names.

For each:

  • Read the composite (that is the public analyze signal, not a new one).
  • Read Fund grade next to it. A Strong Buy with an F is a technical story the fundamentals refuse to bless — the ranker still lets confidence help, but grade is a real weight.
  • Read TA leg vs disruption on the last line. If they disagree, you have something to argue with. That disagreement is the value. A stack of aligned greens is less interesting.
Then go to public analyze for any other ticker you care about. You are not blocked. You are only blocked from the sorted 8-pack.

This week's tape, in one paragraph

The market week around 21 August 2026 has been about whether leadership is still AI-infrastructure after a record-heavy stretch, with yields high enough that duration-sensitive multiples are not free. A ranker that boosts Beneficiaries will keep showing those names until we change the overlay. That is a feature of a published model, and a risk if you treat the shortlist as independent confirmation of the same theme you already own.

If three of your book names are already NVDA/AVGO/TSM, a shortlist full of the same cluster is a concentration warning, not a green light. Guardian is the tool for that. The shortlist will not tell you.

Repeat this note

Same Friday slot. We will not paste frozen prices here. We will say whether the formula changed (it did not, this week) and what the overlay is currently set up to overweight.

Educational ranking. Not a buy list. Not financial advice.

Public scores, then a desk if you need one

Analyze any ticker, run the screener, read the heatmap — no account. Premium adds Co-Pilot, thesis, Alpha weights, Rotation, Guardian, and the ranked Fund+TA shortlist. $14/mo early adopter (listed $29). 7-day trial.
